The Kenner City Council is governed by the Home Rule Charter of the City of Kenner. The legislative branch of City government is represented by two At-Large and five District Councilmembers. The Council is elected in accordance with the election laws of the State for a four-year term concurrent with that of the Mayor and members are limited to two consecutive full terms in the office to which they were elected, exclusive of any partial term created by vacancy. The Council of the City of Kenner meets in the Council Chamber at City Hall on the first and third Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. Should a Council Meeting fall on a legal holiday, the meeting will be re-scheduled by the Council President in accordance with the Home Rule Charter, Council Rules and the consent of the majority of the Kenner City Council. The agenda for the Council Meeting is prepared by the Clerk of the Council at 12:00 noon on the Monday prior to each Council Meeting.
