Located along the shores of the mighty Mississippi River, just minutes from downtown New Orleans, Kenner's Rivertown is a 12 block historic district that houses a collection of unique attractions, including the Kenner Planetarium and Megadome Cinema, Rivertown Space Science Complex, the Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts, and LaSalle's Landing. The area includes several restaurants and shops and hosts numerous cultural festivals throughout the year.

Lundi Gras 2026 4x8 Sign 02.16.2026 (JPG)

Join us for the 28th annual Lundi Gras celebration in Kenner's Rivertown featuring live music by The Topcats, food, arts and crafts vendors and a meeting of the Courts with royalty from the Krewes of Zulu and Argus.  Event runs from 11am to 3pm on Monday, February 16, 2026 in the parking lot of the 400 block of Williams Boulevard!

PlanetariumKenner Planetarium & MegaDome Cinema

The Kenner Planetarium and Megadome Cinema located at 2020 Fourth Street offers an experience that is "out of this world!"  Housing a 50 foot domed screen and 118 stadium style seats, the planetarium dazzles audiences with presentations on astronomy, dinosaurs, flight and more!  Laser shows are also offered and feature animated lights set to music!

Rivertown Space Science Complex

Rivertown Science Center

Explore the world of science through interactive hands-on exhibits dedicated to weather, rivers, insects, optical illusions and more.  Test your skills at forecasting the weather in an exhibit sponsored by WWL-TV Channel 4 that incorporates green screen technology, or have fun digging for dinosaur bones in a tabletop sand pit. The Rivertown Science Center strives to make learning fun for everyone.

Space Station Kenner Exhibit

Tour a life-sized prototype of NASA's International Space Station in this one-of-a-kind exhibit dedicated to space travel and technology. Explore the history of NASA rocketry, view spin-off technology with "Sput-Nick" the robot, or walk through a historical timeline of the 20th century.

Kenner's Heritage Park

Celebrate Kenner's history in a replicated village of days gone by. Stroll down landscaped walkways and admire reproductions of a turn-of-the-century packing shed, ice house, and 1930's era gas station. The site also features a pond and bridge near a replica of St. Mary's Church, the first Catholic church in Kenner.

LaSalle's Landing

LaSalle's Landing is located at the southernmost end of Williams Boulevard at the foot of the levee. This area is believed to be the site where the French explorer, Rene'-Robert Cavalier, sieur de La Salle landed on his way to the Gulf of Mexico.  The plaza boasts several attractive features in addition to its historical significance.

Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts

Theatre 13 is proud to present a wonderful line up of productions at the Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts! The mission of Theatre 13 is to bring new and exciting productions to the New Orleans area while providing local theatre artists an opportunity to perform, create, and be compensated for their work.
