The Krewe of Isis, established in 1973 in Kenner, is the oldest and largest all-female Mardi Gras organization in Jefferson Parish. The procession typically includes 250 female riders, 21 floats, and 10 marching bands/dance teams. Known for delightful floats and spectacularly attired maids, Krewe of Isis is famous for throwing beads, decorated bras, and other specialty throws during the event.
