Krewe of Driftwood Parade

Carnival in Kenner kicks off in the community with Krewe of Driftwood Parade.

Home Posted on January 07, 2026

Each year, about two and a half weeks before Mardi Gras, the Krewe of Driftwood brings the Driftwood neighborhood to life with a one-of-a-kind, community-led parade. Neighbors team up by block or street to create imaginative floats using trailers pulled by trucks and sometimes even boats on trailers, turning everyday rides into rolling works of art.

Families join in on the fun, with kids riding along in festively decorated pickup beds, and friendly competition adds to the excitement as judges award prizes for the best themed floats. Part parade, part block party, the Krewe of Driftwood Neighborhood Parade captures the heart of Kenner’s Mardi Gras spirit, celebrating creativity, togetherness, and hometown pride.
