The Office of Emergency Management maintains municipal emergency operations plans to ensure steps have been taken to prepare for emergencies as well as train for response with mutual aid partners whenever situations call for expanded assistance. Activities in these processes also include steps to mitigate, or reduce potential damage and may also incorporate longer-term recovery indicators as well.
