The Krewe of Isis, established in 1973 in Kenner, is the oldest and largest all-female Mardi Gras organization in Jefferson Parish. The procession typically includes 250 female riders, 21 floats, and 10 marching bands/dance teams. Known for delightful floats and spectacularly attired maids, Krewe of Isis is famous for throwing beads, decorated bras, and other specialty throws during the event.
Update: The parade has now moved to a new starting location and will begin at the Pavilion at Esplanade Shopping Center.
The parade is scheduled to begin at the Pavilion at Esplanade Shopping Center, located at 1000 West Esplanade Avenue. It will then proceed down West Esplanade, turn onto Loyola Drive, continue onto Vintage Drive, and make subsequent turns onto Chateau and Joe Yenni. The parade will conclude at the Pontchartrain Convention & Civic Center.

Our Police Department, Fire Department, and Office of Emergency Management work year-round with local hospitals, EMS, and state and municipal agencies to implement extensive safety measures. During the parade, a trained incident management team will oversee public safety operations using advanced communication and surveillance tools.
Key safety measures include:
Uniformed Police Presence: Officers will be stationed at intersections, along the parade route, and within the procession for crowd management and rapid response.
Traffic & Barricades: Safety barricades and traffic controls will be in place to protect pedestrians while maintaining access to neighborhoods and businesses.
Emergency Response Teams: Fire Department and EMS crews will be strategically positioned to provide immediate assistance for medical or hazardous incidents.
Public Safety Coordination: In case of an emergency, trained officials will guide attendees to safety.
Drones Prohibited: This parade route is aDrone No-Fly Zoneunder Louisiana law (La. R.S. 14:337.1). Violations may result in enforcement action.
In the event of an emergency, our highly trained public safety officials will be prepared to direct attendees and participants to safety. To further ensure a smooth and secure parade experience, we encourage everyone to follow these important safety tips:
✅ Take a “safety selfie” of your group at the start of the day to help locate anyone who may become separated.
✅ If you can’t find a child, immediately notify the nearest public safety official.
✅ Instruct children that if they get lost or need help, they should immediately find a police officer, firefighter, or EMS personnel.
✅ If something seems out of place or requires attention, alert a public safety official (Police, Fire, EMS) or call 911.
