CITY OF KENNER OFFICES WILL REOPEN FRIDAY, JANUARY 24TH; CURBSIDE GARBAGE AND RECYCLING WILL RESUME AND THE KENNER CITY COUNCIL MEETING IS SET TO TAKE PLACE AS SCHEDULED.
Mayor Michael Glaser states the City of Kenner offices will reopen tomorrow, Friday, January 24th with standard hours of operation, 8:30am-4:30pm. The Kenner City Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, January 24th at 11am in Heritage Hall will take place as scheduled.
“I would like to recognize and thank all of the essential City of Kenner employees who were outstanding in response to this winter storm. In addition to Kenner’s city employees, I would also like to thank the Kenner Police and Fire Departments as well. We are grateful for your dedication and hard work,” said Mayor Glaser.
Public Works and General Services crews are continuing to work to restore roadways and public infrastructure. Chief Conley and the Kenner Police Department are still working diligently as well, committed to ensuring roadway safety measures are taken throughout the city.
Curbside garbage collection will resume tomorrow on its regular schedule. Curbside recycling will resume tomorrow and collect the both Thursday, January 23rd and Friday, January 24th routes.
All Jefferson Parish residents are asked to continue limiting non-essential water usage, including activities like washing dishes and doing laundry, in an effort to minimize overloading the parish water system as it recovers from the winter storm.

The 6th Justice of the Peace court for the Parish of Jefferson will remain closed on Tuesday January 21 and Wednesday, January 22 due to poor weather conditions. If the conditions indicate that the court needs to further adjust closing dates and times, notice will be posted. Eviction court cases scheduled for Tuesday, January 21 will be rescheduled and a new court date set. Legal deadlines are extended until the court re-opens.
