The City of Kenner Personnel Department provides City Departments with the organization and leadership to effectively utilize the City's most important assets, its people. By providing advice, support and recommendations, the Personnel department assists departments in managing the City's personnel. The Personnel Department is divided into three areas of responsibility: Non-Classified Employees Personnel Section, Insurance Section and Civil Service Section.
The Personnel Department is responsible for directing the employment process in accordance with all current laws and establishing job classifications, descriptions and salary ranges for all non-classified employee positions, as well as interpreting established personnel policies and assisting the Administration and employees in all related matters. Under the direction of the Personnel Department, the Insurance Division coordinates and administers all benefit programs.
